The Peach Pickers — the songwriting triumvirate of Rhett Akins, Dallas Davidson and Ben Hayslip — teamed up with several of today’s hottest country artists and the sons of a soul music legend for their fourth annual Georgia on My Mind concert at Nashville’s Ryman Auditorium.
Thomas Rhett, who is Akins’ son, performed at Tuesday night’s (May 16) event that also featured Lauren Alaina, Billy Currington, Chris Janson, Kip Moore, Jon Pardi and Michael Ray.
Jameson Irish Whiskey, which sponsored the event, presented a $50,000 check to the Georgia Music Foundation to advance grants to cultural and music education programs in the state. Established in 1994, the foundation has has distributed more than $150,000 in funding to music education, preservation and outreach programs in the past three years from previous Georgia on My Mind concerts.
