Xscape: Still Kickin’ It, a documentary series that follows the four original members of the reunited Atlanta-born R&B group as they make their return to the stage after nearly 20 years apart, will premiere on the Bravo network on Sunday, November 5th. Xscape’s much-anticipated comeback tour kicks off later that month in Richmond, Virginia, with a hometown shindig in Atlanta at Philips Arena on New Year’s Eve. They’ll also be at the Columbus Civic Center in Columbus, Georgia on December 8th. Monica and Tamar Braxton are the opening acts for the tour.
Meanwhile, Jermaine Dupri – who discovered the group and signed them to his So So Def label in 1992 – is one of the producers behind TV One’s upcoming biopic Who Can I Run To: The Xscape Story. But the members of Xscape are miffed about this, claiming they were not consulted about the movie and are not participating. Instead, they say they’re planning their own, authorized Xscape biopic.
