Two Berry College student-made films have been selected for screening at this year’s Rome International Film Festival.
“Rise ‘N Shine: CSA Story” was written and directed by Emmie Cornell of Chattanooga, Russell Maddrey of Aiken, South Carolina, Maggie Midkiff of Macon and Jake Hager of Leesburg. The film provides a unique insight into the entire production and distribution process of one the largest Community Supported Agriculture farms in Georgia, the certified organic Rise ‘N Shine Farm.
The documentary showcases planting, harvesting, packaging and loading of vegetables at the farm, then follows the produce boxes to the community pickup site and on to join a CSA family as they convert their Rise ‘N Shine bounty into meals in their kitchen.
