Joanie Lamb believes fate brought her to Augusta.
The owner of Joanie Lamb Hair Salon on Broad Street found her calling after watching Clint Eastwood’s film “Play Misty for Me.” She hopes that Eastwood’s new movie, “The Mule,” which will be filmed at least partly in Augusta, will have a similar effect on the city as his movie “Midnight in the Garden of Good and Evil” had when it was filmed in Savannah.
“People came into the Savannah area just to see what’s going on,” Lamb said. ”(Augusta) is going to be a designated spot.”
Her salon has been in the same spot for 29 years and, on Tuesday, it will be one of several businesses affected by lane closures because of filming downtown.
