When people think of art museums, they think of paintings. Classic films and novels don’t often come to mind. This month, the Georgia Museum of Art will break that norm with their Southern Women Artists Film Series.
Throughout the rest of July, films based on books written by female authors from the South will be screened for free. The showings will be every Thursday night at 7 p.m.
“Now that we don’t have video rental stores it can be really hard to see some of these classic movies, so it can be a great opportunity,” said Georgia Museum of Art Director of Communications Hillary Brown. “Some of them are pretty hard to find so it’s cool to see them on the big screen.”
