It’s been another busy month in Atlanta’s Hollywood of the South. As usual, a wide variety of films, television productions, and everything in between is gracing our city.
Netflix is producing a new movie, Sextuplets (production code: LARK), focusing on a man trying to meet his birth mother, only to discover along the way that he is a sextuplet. Marlon Wayans stars as all six of the siblings. We first saw LARK signs pop up in Midtown along 16th Street on September 13. Additional signs were spotted near Atlantic Station as well the following day. Between the 17th and 19th, crews filmed in downtown Newnan. The next two days after that, filming took place at the Cherokee County Detention Center. Production crews were spotted in Chattahoochee Hills on September 24, and in Morrow on the 25th.
Also new this month is Doom Patrol (GRANT), a series based on the DC Comics superhero team of the same name. The show will run on DC Universe, a new streaming service that will specialize in DC Comics content. Doom Patrol has some big names attached, including Brendan Fraser, Alan Tudyk, and Timothy Dalton. The series ended August in Conyers on the 30th. Between September 10 and 12, crews took over a portion of downtown Lawrenceville. On the 13th, filming took place at the Briarcliff Mansion. Crews returned to Conyers, shooting in a neighborhood on September 21.
