Sean Powers is director of podcasting at Georgia Public Broadcasting, the statewide NPR and PBS affiliate. He has developed new podcasts over the last few months, but there is one we want to share with you. It’s called “The Credits.”
On this show, host Kalena Boller introduces us to the people working in Georgia’s multibillion dollar film and television industry. Kalena works on movies and TV shows in the locations department, and she has more than 40 credits to her name. She describes this podcast as her “love letter” to the hardworking people making Georgia the Hollywood of the South.
Segments from the podcast occasionally air on GPB’s “On Second Thought,” and Kalena appears on that show about once a month to talk about what’s filming in Georgia. We just wrapped up the first season of “The Credits” with nine episodes featuring people who work in many different areas of “Y’allywood”: craft food services, on-set dresser, stand-in actors, stunt coordinator, still photographer, actress, key grip, location scout, and film festival organizer. Season 2 comes out in March. “The Credits” is also available on iTunes, Stitcher, TuneIn, Google Play, and on the NPR One app.
