Film lovers, amateurs and experts gathered at the Yanmar Evo Center in Acworth on Thursday to network, learn from and share with each other at the inaugural Cherokee Film Summit.

The summit, created by the Cherokee Office of Economic Development, highlighted and celebrated the filming that has and continued to take place in Cherokee County, featured breakout sessions from experts and business leaders in various areas of filmmaking and closed with a question-and-answer panel with the location team on Netflix’s hit series “Ozark,” portions of which were filmed in Cherokee.

COED President Misti Martin and COED Film Projects Manager Molly Mercer spoke at the opening of the event, recapping the increasing filming in the county and the state and encouraging event attendees to bring more shows and films to the area.
