Valdosta City Officials are working to bring more of the film industry to South Georgia.
Earlier Thursday, city officials and community members met with officials with the Georgia Production Partnership (GPP), at Valdosta State University.
Co-president of GPP, Clark Cofer, spoke about the available opportunities and the money brought in by Georgia last year.
“We had 9.5 billion in reciprocal revenue spend, which means film to mom and pop, film to hotels, film to carpenters, film to antique dealers, film to cleaners. That’s a lot of revenue for the state. It’s important to get this message out. We tell everybody they can benefit. Their communities can grow,” said Cofer.
Cofer also shared that there are tax breaks and incentives to offer film professionals, to make your community competitive for the film industry.
