From GONE WITH THE WIND and TO KILL A MOCKINGBIRD, to FORREST GUMP and MOONLIGHT, films set in the South have a rich and vibrant cinematic history. Whether audiences find themselves in the bayous of Louisiana, the shores of the Mississippi River, or the oak-lined streets of Savannah, they’ll bear witness to the authentic Southern sensibilities and personalities pulsing through these short films. This category will champion regional cinema, which empowers the voices of the South and allows our audience to discover premiere stories.
The SCAD Savannah Film Festival is seeking diverse short films — about the South, set in the South, or directed by Southern filmmakers — exploring a variety of themes and perspectives that best represent the voices from the South.
Southern Voices is now open for submissions on Film Freeway at https://filmfreeway.com/SCADSavannahFilmFestival.
Final deadline for submissions is June 30, 2019.
