Savannah, Georgia is once again in the top ten of MovieMaker Magazine’s Best Places to Live & Work as a Moviemaker – Small Cities and Towns 2021! The MovieMaker Magazine article mentions films shot in the area, (A Savannah Haunting and The Glorias), as well as local film schools (SCAD and GFA), and local organizations (SWIFT).

Currently filming in our region, the war epic, Devotion, follows a pair of U.S. Navy pilots – including pioneering African American aviator Jesse Brown – who risked their lives during the Korean War and became some of the Navy’s most celebrated wingmen. Devotion will star Jonathan Majors, Joe Jonas, Glen Powell, and Christina Jackson and will be directed by J.D Dillard. It is being produced by Black Label Media, whose films include blockbusters such as La-La Land and Sicario.

A Savannah Haunting

Directed by William Mark McCullough, A Savannah Haunting, is a feature film that centers around a family who moves to Savannah, Georgia to escape the memory of their young daughter’s tragic drowning. Once in their new home, the mother begins to experience chilling phenomena that leads her to believe she is being haunted by her dead daughter. The Underground Railroad
