Georgia Tech Study,

Believe it or not, there’s much more going on in entertainment in Georgia than the debate over the right multiplier to use to determine direct spend and economic impact. Studios are packed, scouts are hustling all over the state looking for locations for financed scripts and post-production companies are overflowing with work. However, it is the legislative session and we must pay attention to real or perceived threats to our industry. Happy to see the Georgia Tech study released. It confirms what we have written about already. There’s a huge economic benefit to the state because of the film tax credit.

The debate should not be around trimming the credit and putting more government resources and controls in place. The debate should really be about expanding the credit while providing more state resources and guidelines toward success. Let’s go wider from production to content creation credits, expand music and gaming credits, whatever it takes to create better jobs for Georgians. See more about the Georgia Tech study here
