Children’s Film Festival Family Day at Emory University Offers Free Workshops for Kids and Parents, Showcases Kid-Produced Films

Kids Video Connection, with support from the DeKalb Entertainment Commission, will host its Children’s Film Festival Family Day on June 29 at Emory University. The event includes workshops on the film industry for kids and their parents, plus a showcase of youth-produced films.

Details:

  • Intro to Acting Workshop for Youth, 9 a.m. – 10:50 a.m. 
  • Special Effects Make-up Workshop for Youth, 11 a.m. – 1 p.m. 
  • How to Produce a Children Show Workshop for Adults, 9 a.m. –1 p.m. Fran Burst-Terranella, the first female director in Atlanta, will be the instructor. She is an Emmy-winning independent film and television director and producer whose work spans four decades and totals more than 700 productions. Her documentaries have aired nationally on ABC, TBS and PBS.
  • Film Showcase, 1:30 – 4:30 p.m. Showcasing the films produced by the students in KVC Film Camp, films produced by teens and this year’s award-winning films.  The film screening is free and open to the public.
